The 12 best IT helpdesk AI agents in 2026, compared

The 12 best IT helpdesk AI agents in 2026 compared on resolving vs deflecting, Slack and Teams, system of record, ITAM, published pricing and G2 ratings.
The best IT helpdesk AI agents in 2026 resolve requests instead of deflecting them: they verify the employee, act in the identity provider, HRIS or MDM, and close the request inside Slack or Microsoft Teams. For 200 to 1,000 employee companies the strongest picks are Harmony, Atomicwork, Siit, Serval and Console among AI-native platforms, and Freshservice, Jira Service Management with Rovo and Zendesk among suites that added agents. Moveworks, ServiceNow AI Agents, Aisera and Rezolve.ai are built for larger enterprises, usually above 1,000 employees or already on ServiceNow.
How we evaluated
We scored each tool on five questions, using vendor pricing and product pages and G2 listings (checked October 21, 2026):
- Resolves or deflects. Does the agent finish the request, or answer from a knowledge base and open a ticket? See what is an AI help desk and ticket deflection.
- Acts in identity, HRIS and MDM. Can it reset MFA, grant app access or run onboarding steps through integrations, with approvals?
- System of record. Does it own tickets, approvals and assets, or sit as an overlay on another ITSM?
- Pricing model. Per agent, per admin, per resolution, per outcome or quote, and whether the acting AI is an add-on.
- Fit for 200 to 1,000 employees. Minimums, size scoping and implementation weight.

The 12 agents
1. Harmony
Best for: 200 to 1,000 employee companies that want most IT and HR requests resolved in Slack and Teams, with assets and applications in the same system.
How it works: The AI service desk agent verifies identity and acts through integrations: MFA reset, password reset, application access with approval routing, group membership, onboarding, offboarding and device recovery. It opens a ticket with full context only when a human is needed, picked up in the same thread. Harmony resolves up to 90% of routine requests.
Backbone and ITAM: A system of record, not an overlay: assets, applications and SaaS licences, employee records, policies and AI governance; 100+ prebuilt agents and 100+ integrations. It can also run alongside Freshservice, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow or Zendesk.
Pricing and ratings: A custom quote scoped to company size and use; the core deployment includes the Slack and Teams agent, knowledge base generation, core integrations and support, and AWS Marketplace private offers are available. G2 4.8 (80); Gartner Peer Insights 4.9 (32) and Capterra 4.9 (19), checked October 21, 2026. Customer-reported figures published by Harmony: Cyera roughly 85 to 89% of requests resolved automatically; Fireblocks 915 access requests processed by agents.
Limitations: No published pricing to self-serve; G2 reviewers ask for more flexible reporting and dashboard widgets; some integrations needed extra setup steps; a younger company (founded 2025) than most on this list.
2. Moveworks (ServiceNow)
Best for: Large enterprises that keep their ITSM and want one AI front door across IT, HR and finance.
How it works: Automates workflows end to end with hundreds of built-in use cases, in Slack and Teams. ServiceNow completed its acquisition on December 15, 2025 and bundles Moveworks into its ITSM packages.
Backbone and ITAM: Overlay; no ticketing or ITAM of its own.
Pricing and rating: Custom quote only. G2 4.4 (158).
Limitations: G2 reviewers mention complexity, a learning curve and time spent tuning routing and approval rules; overlay plus ITSM is two products for a 500-person company. See Moveworks alternatives.
3. ServiceNow AI Agents
Best for: Companies already running ServiceNow ITSM.
How it works: The ITSM Prime package adds AI Agents for ITSM and an L1 Service Desk AI Specialist that investigates incidents, talks to the requester and escalates when confidence is low. Virtual Agent runs in Slack and Teams through ServiceNow Store apps, cloud instances only.
Backbone and ITAM: ServiceNow ITSM is the system of record; asset modules are not detailed on the ITSM package page.
Pricing and rating: Quote for all three packages (Foundation, Advanced, Prime). G2 4.3 (491); G2 shows an average of three months to implement.
Limitations: Enterprise cost and implementation weight; the acting agents sit in the top package.
4. Freshservice Freddy AI Agent
Best for: Teams that want a mature ITIL suite with Slack and Teams as the front door.
How it works: Answers and handles service requests in Slack, Teams and the portal; Freshworks says it acts across systems. Freddy AI Agent (Classic) is included in Enterprise with 1,200 sessions a year.
Backbone and ITAM: Full ITSM; ITAM with asset units, extra units in packs of 500.
Pricing and rating: $19 Starter, $49 Growth, $99 Pro per agent per month billed annually; Enterprise custom; Freddy AI Copilot $29 per agent per month. G2 4.6 (1,363).
Limitations: The employee-facing agent is Enterprise only and session-limited, so the acting AI is out of reach on Growth and Pro.
5. Jira Service Management with Rovo
Best for: Companies standardized on Jira and Confluence.
How it works: Rovo agents answer in Slack, Teams and the help center; Request Resolver carries out requests such as access provisioning in supervised or autonomous mode. The virtual service agent is on Premium and Enterprise with 1,000 assisted conversations a month, then from $0.30 each.
Backbone and ITAM: Full ITSM; Assets with 5,000 (Standard), 50,000 (Premium) or 500,000 (Enterprise) objects.
Pricing and rating: Free for 3 agents; Standard $21.50 and Premium $55.28 per agent per month; Enterprise via sales, annual only. G2 4.3 (986).
Limitations: Learning curve and complexity are the top G2 complaints; actions depend on connectors you configure.
6. Atomicwork
Best for: Companies that want outcome-based pricing and plan to extend service to HR, finance and legal.
How it works: AI Coworkers reset passwords, provision access and install software from Slack, Teams, email or a portal.
Backbone and ITAM: Its own ITSM, ESM and ITAM, or a layer on ServiceNow or JSM.
Pricing and rating: Professional from $25,000 a year (25,000 credits, two AI Coworkers, up to 250 end users); Business (up to 1,000 end users) and Enterprise by quote; outcome pricing of $1 to $2 per outcome, from $3 for service resolution, with annual minimums. G2 4.0 (1).
Limitations: Most 300 to 1,000 person companies land in the unpublished Business tier; one G2 review.
7. Aisera
Best for: Enterprises that want agentic AI across IT, HR and customer service without replacing their ticketing system.
How it works: Agents handle access management, password resets and provisioning in Teams, Slack, email and portals. Automation Anywhere announced it had acquired Aisera on November 4, 2025.
Backbone and ITAM: Runs on top of your existing tools, including ServiceNow; we found no ITAM module documented.
Pricing and rating: We found no published prices. G2 4.4 (146).
Limitations: G2 reviewers cite a learning curve, time-consuming setup and occasional inaccurate answers; two layers to maintain.
8. Siit
Best for: Lean IT and ops teams that want simple per-admin pricing.
How it works: A thread per request in Slack; on Pro, AI agents execute password resets and access provisioning. Teams and email are included.
Backbone and ITAM: Its own ticketing; asset and SaaS management from Standard.
Pricing and rating: $23 Essentials, $45 Standard, $89 Pro per admin per month, billed annually. G2 5.0 (29).
Limitations: Full agents require Pro; lower tiers get 10 assistant conversations per admin per week.
9. Serval
Best for: Technical IT teams that want to build and own their automations.
How it works: Admins describe a workflow in plain language, the Catalyst builder generates code, and admins review and publish it; the help desk agent acts only through those deterministic workflows. Slack, Teams, email and web portal. Serval raised a $75 million Series B in December 2025.
Backbone and ITAM: Full ITSM with HAM, SAM and a CMDB, or a layer with sync to ServiceNow, Jira and Zendesk.
Pricing and rating: One platform fee, not published. G2 4.9 (10).
Limitations: Generated workflows are code your team maintains; ten G2 reviews.
10. Console
Best for: Chat-first teams focused on access requests and identity tasks.
How it works: Time-bound app access with policy approvals, group membership, password and MFA resets after identity verification, in Slack, Teams, Google Chat and email. Palo Alto Networks announced on September 1, 2026 that it had acquired Console and plans to add it to Cortex.
Backbone and ITAM: Its own ticketing and asset tracking, or connected to existing systems.
Pricing and rating: Tailored quote, not tied to agent count. G2 4.9 (20).
Limitations: Ask about the standalone IT roadmap now that it sits inside a security platform.
11. Zendesk Employee Service
Best for: Companies that already run Zendesk for customer support.
How it works: AI agents in Slack and Teams answer from connected knowledge and act through Zendesk workflows (access provisioning, hardware replacement, leave requests).
Backbone and ITAM: Own ticketing; 500 assets included from Suite Growth.
Pricing and rating: $29 Team, $59 Growth, $99 Professional per agent per month billed annually; AI agents from Growth with 10 automated resolutions per agent per month, then $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go; Copilot $50 per agent. G2 4.5 (112).
Limitations: Per-resolution billing rises with the automation you wanted.
12. Rezolve.ai
Best for: Organizations above 2,000 employees; Rezolve says it is "scoped for organizations with 2,000 or more employees."
How it works: Resets passwords, provisions software and handles HR and finance requests with approval-gated, audited actions in Teams, Slack, email, web and phone.
Backbone and ITAM: Its own ITSM with assets and CMDB, or a layer on ServiceNow, Freshservice or Jira.
Pricing and rating: Quote, per employee or per fulfiller, with a fixed fee for assets and CMDB. G2 4.8 (38).
Limitations: Above this guide's size range. Why not Espressive: Resolve acquired Espressive in September 2025 and espressive.com now redirects to resolve.io, which does not mention Barista, so we could not confirm it is sold as a standalone product.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best IT helpdesk AI agent in 2026?
For 200 to 1,000 employee companies, Harmony, Atomicwork, Siit, Serval and Console are the strongest because they act in identity, HRIS and MDM systems and own the ticket record. Above 2,000 employees or on ServiceNow, look at ServiceNow AI Agents, Moveworks, Aisera and Rezolve.ai.
What is the difference between an AI agent that answers and one that acts?
An answering agent retrieves knowledge and opens a ticket. An acting agent verifies the employee and completes the request through integrations, such as an MFA reset or an app access grant with approval, and only escalates what it cannot do safely.
Which IT helpdesk AI agents publish their prices?
Freshservice, Jira Service Management, Siit, Zendesk and Atomicwork (Professional tier) publish list prices. Harmony, Moveworks, ServiceNow, Serval, Console and Rezolve.ai price by quote, and we found no published prices for Aisera.
Do I need to replace my ITSM to use an AI agent?
No. Moveworks and Aisera are overlays, and Harmony, Atomicwork, Serval and Rezolve.ai can run alongside an existing ITSM. Replacing it later removes a second contract and a sync to maintain.
Do these AI agents work in both Slack and Microsoft Teams?
All 12 tools in this guide list both Slack and Teams. Check whether the experience is native in your primary channel or an integration added to a portal-first product.
How should we compare resolution rates between vendors?
Ask each vendor how it defines "resolved", then pilot on your own top request types. Vendor and customer-reported figures, including Harmony's up to 90% of routine requests, depend on request mix and connected systems.
