Best IT help desk tools for Microsoft Teams in 2026

8 IT help desk and ITSM tools compared for Microsoft Teams-first companies: native Teams apps, AI agents that act in Entra ID and Intune, ITAM, pricing and fit for 200 to 1,000 employees. Verified October 2026.
Teams-first companies have a different shortlist from Slack-first ones. The Microsoft estate (Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft 365 groups) is where most IT requests get fulfilled, so the question is less "does it have a Teams app" and more "can the agent act in Entra ID and Intune from inside a Teams chat, with the right approvals". On that test the leading options for 200 to 1,000 employees are Harmony and Atomicwork among AI-native tools, SysAid as the Teams-native suite with AI included, Freshservice and Jira Service Management as established suites, and ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus and InvGate as budget suites with Teams tabs. Rezolve.ai is strong but scoped for 2,000+ employees.
How we evaluated
Same five criteria as our Slack guide, with two Teams-specific additions: whether the tool is distributed as a proper Teams app (admin-deployable, pinned, with adaptive cards) rather than a webhook, and whether the AI agent writes to Entra ID and Intune (group membership, MFA and password reset, device actions) rather than only reading.
At a glance

| SysAid | Teams-first teams that want a suite with AI included | Native | Yes (prebuilt agents: resets, diagnostics) | 250 assets included | $89 per agent/mo | 4.5 (753) |
| Atomicwork | Outcome-based pricing, ESM beyond IT | Native, portal-like in Teams | Yes (Intune, Entra ID) | Business tier and up | From $25,000/yr | 4.0 (1) |
| Freshservice | ITIL depth with a Teams front door | Native | With orchestration and AI Agent entitlement | Yes | $19 to $99 per agent/mo, Copilot +$29 | 4.6 (1,359) |

| Rezolve.ai | 2,000+ employee organisations | Native, Teams-first | Yes | In AI-Native ITSM tier | Quote | 4.8 (38) |
The tools
1. Harmony
Best for: 200 to 1,000 employee companies on Microsoft 365 that want IT and HR requests resolved by an agent in Teams, with Slack covered for the engineering side if you run both.
In Teams: A native Teams app. Employees chat with the agent; it verifies identity, acts in Entra ID and Intune (MFA and password reset, group membership, application access with approvals, device recovery and compliance checks) and escalates to a human in the same conversation when needed. Approvers approve in Teams.
Behind the chat: System of record with asset, application and SaaS management, employee records, policies and AI governance; 100+ prebuilt agents; integrations with Entra ID, Intune, HRIS platforms and existing ITSM tools so you can run Harmony alongside Freshservice, JSM or ServiceNow during migration.
Pricing: A custom quote scoped to your deployment, with the AI agent included.
Limitations: Reporting flexibility is the common G2 request; no self-serve pricing.
2. SysAid
Best for: Teams-first IT departments that want a traditional suite with AI included in the per-agent price.
In Teams: Teams is SysAid's primary chat channel; prebuilt agents reset passwords and run diagnostics from the Teams experience. Slack is an integration rather than a native employee experience.
Behind the chat: Full ITSM with 250 managed assets included (asset packs extra), Copilot for agents and end users, 100+ prebuilt AI agents on the Professional plan.
Pricing: $89 per agent per month; Enterprise custom with a 20-agent minimum. SysAid states no AI usage caps.
Evidence: SysAid publishes 80% AI-engaged and 68% AI-resolved service requests as averages (vendor claim).
Limitations: G2 reviewers cite an interface that needs modernising and a learning curve. More in our SysAid alternatives guide.
3. Atomicwork
Best for: Companies that want outcome-based pricing and plan to roll the service desk out to HR and finance.
In Teams: Atom brings a portal-like experience into Teams and resolves requests end to end, including provisioning through Intune and Entra ID.
Pricing and limitations: As in the Slack guide: $25,000 a year floor, ITAM in higher tiers, one G2 review.
4. Freshservice
Best for: ITIL depth with Teams as the front door. The Freddy AI Agent runs in Teams and Microsoft 365 apps; with orchestration it fulfils resets, distribution-list changes and software access. Pricing $19 to $99 per agent per month plus the $29 Copilot add-on; the acting AI Agent is included only in Enterprise with 1,200 sessions a year.
5. Jira Service Management
Best for: Atlassian shops. JSM Chat works in Teams; the Virtual Service Agent requires Premium ($51.42 per agent per month) and acts only through intent flows and automations you build.
6. ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus
Best for: Budget-conscious teams, or those that need on-prem. ServiceDesk Plus runs as a tab inside Teams; the Zia bot handles ticket operations (create, approve, assign, resolve) but not identity actions such as password resets or access provisioning. $13 (Standard, free up to 5 technicians), $27 (Professional) and $67 (Enterprise) per technician per month; Zia Agents are Enterprise only; ITAM and CMDB from Professional. More in our ManageEngine alternatives guide.
7. InvGate Service Management
Best for: Small IT teams that want a clean suite and a Teams chatbot for request creation, approvals and tracking. Teams and WhatsApp are on Pro and Enterprise. $1,499 a year flat for 5 agents on Starter; Pro $500 per agent per year with a 5-agent minimum and a 50-agent cap; Enterprise from $12,000 a year. Asset management is a separate product. Identity actions from the bot are not documented.
8. Rezolve.ai
Best for: Organisations above 2,000 employees; Rezolve states that scope explicitly. Teams-first agent that resets passwords, provisions software and files requests, with cited answers; 60 to 80% autonomous resolution for common ticket types (vendor claim). Quote-only.
Choose by situation
- 200 to 1,000 employees, Microsoft 365, want resolution not deflection: Harmony first; SysAid if you prefer a conventional suite with AI included at a published price; Atomicwork if you want outcome-based pricing.
- ITIL processes are the priority: Freshservice or SysAid.
- Atlassian everywhere: JSM Premium.
- Tight budget or on-prem requirement: ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus or InvGate.
- Above 2,000 employees: add Rezolve.ai and ServiceNow to the list.

Frequently asked questions
Does Microsoft offer an IT help desk in Teams natively?
Microsoft 365 Copilot can answer questions and Entra ID has self-service password reset, but neither gives you a service desk with tickets, approvals, SLAs and asset context. Every tool in this guide sits on top of Entra ID and Intune rather than replacing them.
What should an AI agent be allowed to do in Entra ID?
Start with read access and low-risk writes (group membership for non-privileged groups, MFA re-registration after verification). Gate application access behind approvals and keep privileged role changes human-only. Look for an audit trail of every action the agent takes; Harmony, Atomicwork and Rezolve expose this by design.
Can we run a new AI help desk alongside our current ITSM?
Yes. Harmony, Moveworks and Atomicwork sync tickets with Freshservice, JSM and ServiceNow, which lets you start with the agent in Teams and migrate the system of record later.
Is Teams or Slack better for an IT help desk?
The channel matters less than the integrations behind it. Teams-first companies tend to be Microsoft 365 estates where Entra ID and Intune actions are the bulk of requests; Slack-first companies tend to have more SaaS access requests. Pick the tool that acts in the systems you actually run.
How many IT staff do we need at 500 employees with an AI agent in place?
Harmony's published n8n case describes one IT person covering growth from 250 to about 500 employees. Treat this as one data point, not a rule.
