Moveworks pricing in 2026: what it costs and what reviewers say

Moveworks is quote-only. Its AWS Marketplace list price is $150 per user per year (1,000 to 2,500 users); Vendr's median is about $130,000 a year.

Moveworks does not publish prices. It sells through custom quotes, and since ServiceNow completed its acquisition on December 15, 2025, it is sold by ServiceNow, either as a standalone product or inside ServiceNow EmployeeWorks. The clearest public price is Moveworks' own AWS Marketplace listing: $150 per user per year on a 12-month contract, for 1,000 to 2,500 users. Vendr's buyer data puts the median contract at about $130,000 a year across 31 purchases. On top of the subscription, budget for implementation (Vendr estimates $50,000 to $200,000 or more) and for the ITSM that Moveworks sits on.

How is Moveworks priced?

Moveworks' pricing page asks buyers to connect with an expert "to request a custom quote" and promises flexible pricing tailored to each customer. It names no tiers, editions or add-ons, and shows no numbers apart from a Forrester study it commissioned.

Two public data points fill the gap:

  • AWS Marketplace (published by Moveworks). The listing has a single pricing dimension: a band of 1,000 to 2,500 users, billed per user per year, at $150 per user on a 12-month contract. If your count exceeds 2,500, the band no longer applies and you need a private offer. Negotiated prices can differ from the listing.
  • Vendr (third-party estimate). Vendr reports a median of about $130,000 a year from 31 purchases, with an observed range of $89,500 to $271,333. It says Moveworks prices on total employee headcount, not active users or tickets, as a flat annual fee on annual or multi-year terms. Vendr's narrative figures (for example $15 to $45 per employee a year) do not reconcile cleanly with its own median, so treat them as negotiation context, not a rate card.

G2's pricing panel adds that buyers report an average discount of 13% and rate the perceived cost in the highest band.

What the AWS list price implies

EmployeesAnnual cost at the AWS Marketplace list price
1,000$150,000
1,500$225,000
2,500$375,000
Under 1,000 or over 2,500Not covered by the public listing; quote only

What drives the price

  • Headcount. Both AWS and Vendr tie the fee to the number of people covered, not to usage.
  • Term length. Vendr reports two-year terms 15% to 25% lower per year and three-year terms 20% to 30% lower than one-year terms.
  • Premium features and services. Vendr says advanced analytics, custom workflows, extra integrations and dedicated success resources can add 10% to 25% to contract value.
  • Integration scope. Implementation cost rises with the number and complexity of connected systems (Vendr: $50,000 to $100,000 for 5 to 10 integrations, $100,000 to $200,000+ beyond that).
  • How you buy from ServiceNow. Since 2026, Moveworks capabilities can come bundled into ServiceNow packages, which changes the comparison entirely (see below).

What changed after ServiceNow acquired Moveworks?

ServiceNow announced the deal on March 10, 2025, for $2.85 billion in cash and stock, and said nearly 90% of Moveworks customers had rolled it out to all employees. It completed the acquisition on December 15, 2025, noting about 250 customers already used both products. Since then:

  1. February 26, 2026: EmployeeWorks. ServiceNow launched EmployeeWorks, a conversational front door built on Moveworks chat and enterprise search plus ServiceNow's portal and workflows, available in Slack, Teams or a browser. The same release said Moveworks "continues to be offered as a standalone product" within the ServiceNow portfolio.
  2. April 9, 2026: AI included in every package. ServiceNow said every product now includes AI and introduced a tiered model spanning AI assistance, agentic automation and autonomous operations. Info-Tech Research Group's analysis names the tiers Foundation, Advanced and Prime, describes Moveworks as the default employee-facing conversational layer, and says pricing pairs subscription commitments with usage tokens called "assists".
  3. May 5, 2026: ServiceNow Otto. At Knowledge 2026, ServiceNow introduced Otto, which unifies Now Assist, Moveworks and AI Experience into one assistant. It is available first in EmployeeWorks and AI Control Tower, with rollout across all products "in the year ahead". ServiceNow's Otto page says it replaces Now Assist and Moveworks across ServiceNow products and channels.
  4. May 2026: migration path. A Moveworks community post announcing EmployeeWorks general availability says existing connectors, plugins and skills carry over, and that the EmployeeWorks interface is available to customers who have purchased it.

For buyers this means two different price conversations. A ServiceNow customer is now negotiating a ServiceNow package in which Moveworks-derived capability may already be included, with consumption measured in assists. A company without ServiceNow is buying a standalone product whose roadmap is now set by ServiceNow. Ask for both prices in writing, and ask how assists are counted. See our ServiceNow alternatives guide if the wider platform is in question.

What do reviewers say?

G24.4 / 5158 reviewsListing now titled ServiceNow EmployeeWorks
Gartner Peer Insights4.5 / 5116 ratings53% five-star, 46% four-star
Capterra5.0 / 51 reviewSingle 2023 review; not meaningful

Recurring praise (G2 and Gartner, summarised): time saved on routine requests such as password resets, employees asking in plain language inside chat instead of filling forms, and the connections to Slack, Teams and ServiceNow. Gartner reviewers describe it as powerful and feature-rich.

Recurring complaints (summarised): integration work takes longer than expected, customization has a learning curve, reviewers want more connectors outside ServiceNow, and some report slow responses or weak handling of unusual questions. On Gartner, a low-rated review describes rewriting hundreds of knowledge articles into templates the assistant could read. G2 reviewers report about 3 months to implement and 14 months to return on investment.

What is the total cost of Moveworks?

The subscription is the smallest part of the decision for many teams. A realistic first-year budget includes:

  • Subscription. The quote, or $150 per user per year at list for 1,000 to 2,500 users.
  • Implementation. Vendr estimates $50,000 to $200,000+, over 8 to 16 weeks.
  • The ITSM underneath. Moveworks is an AI front door, not a ticketing system. When it announced the deal, ServiceNow said most Moveworks deployments already use ServiceNow as the system of action, so you keep paying for that platform, or for Jira Service Management, Freshservice or another ITSM.
  • Knowledge preparation. Reviewers describe significant work rewriting articles before answers are reliable.
  • Custom skills. Moveworks' platform includes a low-code and pro-code Tool Studio for building agents. Someone has to build and maintain those integrations.

Moveworks cites a Forrester Total Economic Impact study (commissioned by Moveworks, June 2023) reporting 256% ROI and $11.5 million in savings over three years. The composite organization in that study had about 30,000 employees, so scale the result to your size before using it.

Who is Moveworks a good fit for?

Moveworks fits large enterprises, especially those that already run ServiceNow and want a polished assistant in Slack or Teams across IT and HR. The public AWS band starts at 1,000 users, the Forrester composite was 30,000 employees, and ServiceNow described Moveworks' base as more than 350 large enterprises when it announced the deal.

It is a harder case for a 200 to 1,000 employee company. At 500 employees you are below the public pricing band, you still need a separate ITSM, and you are buying two products where one could do. For guidance at that size, see the best ITSM for 500 employees.

Aisera

Aisera covers IT, HR, customer service and IT operations, with voice and an AI-native ticketing option. Strengths: breadth across departments and a large review base (G2 4.4 from 146 reviews; Gartner 4.4 from 184 ratings). Limitations: quote-only, G2 reviewers report about 4 months to implement, and it now sits inside Automation Anywhere's automation portfolio. See Aisera pricing.

Atomicwork

Atomicwork is an AI-native ITSM and ESM platform with AI Coworkers in Slack and Teams. Strengths: the most transparent pricing of the group. Professional starts from $25,000 a year (up to 250 end users), and outcome pricing starts at $1 per knowledge answer, $2 per access request and from $3 per resolved ticket, each with annual minimums. It can run on ServiceNow or Jira Service Management with no platform fee. Limitations: the $25,000 floor and annual outcome minimums are significant for smaller teams, and its G2 review base is a single review.

Harmony

Harmony is an AI-native IT service management and employee service platform. Its agents resolve up to 90% of routine requests in Slack and Microsoft Teams, acting through integrations (MFA and password resets, application access with approvals, onboarding and offboarding) and opening a ticket with full context only when a person is needed. Unlike Moveworks, it is also the system of record for tickets, assets and applications, so there is no second product to license. It integrates with ServiceNow tickets and can run alongside ServiceNow during a migration or permanently.

Pricing: Harmony prices each deployment with a custom quote, scoped to company size and how the platform is used. The core deployment includes the Slack and Teams agent, knowledge base generation, core integrations and support. Harmony is available through AWS Marketplace private offers.

Evidence (customer-reported figures published by Harmony): Cyera resolves roughly 85 to 89% of employee requests automatically; Mammoth Brands cut time to first response from 4 hours to 7 seconds. Harmony is rated 4.8 on G2 (80 reviews), 4.9 on Gartner Peer Insights (32) and 4.9 on Capterra (19).

Limitations: no published per-seat pricing to self-serve; G2 reviewers ask for more flexible reporting and dashboard widgets; some integrations needed extra setup steps; and Harmony is a younger company (founded 2025) than Moveworks or ServiceNow.

How to negotiate a Moveworks quote

  • Ask for the price at your current headcount and at your two-year projection, since the fee follows headcount.
  • Get the standalone Moveworks price and the ServiceNow package price side by side if you run ServiceNow, including how assists are metered.
  • Price implementation separately and ask what is fixed-fee.
  • Use term length deliberately: Vendr's data shows multi-year terms lower the annual price, but they also lock you into a roadmap that ServiceNow now controls.
  • Run a competitive evaluation; Vendr reports 10% to 25% better pricing when buyers do.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Moveworks cost?

Moveworks does not publish prices and sells on custom quotes. Its AWS Marketplace listing shows $150 per user per year on a 12-month contract for 1,000 to 2,500 users, and Vendr's buyer data puts the median contract at about $130,000 a year.

Is Moveworks priced per user?

The AWS Marketplace listing is priced per user per year, and Vendr says Moveworks prices on total employee headcount rather than active users or tickets. Final pricing is negotiated per contract.

Did ServiceNow buy Moveworks?

Yes. ServiceNow announced the acquisition on March 10, 2025, for $2.85 billion and completed it on December 15, 2025. Moveworks now powers ServiceNow EmployeeWorks and is part of ServiceNow Otto.

Can I still buy Moveworks without ServiceNow?

ServiceNow said in February 2026 that Moveworks continues to be offered as a standalone product. Its roadmap is now set by ServiceNow, so ask about long-term support for your ITSM and HR systems.

Do I need an ITSM if I buy Moveworks?

Yes. Moveworks is an AI front door that answers and acts through other systems; tickets and records live in an ITSM such as ServiceNow, so budget for both.

Is Moveworks worth it for a 500-person company?

Usually not. The public pricing band starts at 1,000 users, implementation is estimated at $50,000 or more, and you still pay for a separate ITSM. Platforms that combine the AI agent and the system of record tend to fit that size better.
